Polyurethane dispensing

Almost the entire range of DOPAG systems, including DOSO-MATIC, ECONO-MIX, VARIO-MIX and ELDO-MIX are suitable for polyurethane dispensing. Factors appertaining to the polyurethane, such as the viscosity and the mixing ratio determine the choice of system, as well as the application that the system will be used for.

Typical applications that involve polyurethane dispensing include laminating, both in the manufacture of rigid structural panels for construction or caravan manufacture for instance and film laminating in the packaging industry, where polyurethane adhesives are used extensively.

Polyurethane dispensing is also used for encapsulating in the electrical and electronics industries, whilst casting and moulding with polyurethane is also popular, particularly in the production of prototypes, in what is termed “rapid prototyping.”

It is important and care must be taken in the design of any polyurethane dispensing system to ensure that the components of the polyurethane are kept free of moisture, as any ingress of moisture will have a detrimental effect on the isocyanate component that can lead to damage to a system.
