Urethane dispensing

Almost the entire range of DOPAG systems, including dosomatic, economix, variomix and eldomix are suitable for urethane dispensing. Factors appertaining to the urethane, such as the viscosity and the mixing ratio determine the choice of system, as well as the application that the system will be used for.

Typical applications that involve urethane dispensing include laminating, both in the manufacture of rigid structural panels for construction or caravan manufacture for instance and film laminating in the packaging industry, where urethane adhesives are used extensively.

Urethane dispensing is also used for encapsulating in the electrical and electronics industries, whilst casting and moulding with urethane is also popular, particularly in the production of prototypes, in what is termed “rapid prototyping.”

It is important that care is taken in the design of any urethane dispensing system to ensure that the urethane components are kept free of moisture as any ingress of moisture will have a detrimental effect on the isocyanate component that can lead to damage to a system.
